It’s named Highland Park for a reason.
Highland Park is the heart of Old Southwest, forming a green oasis in the middle of urban Roanoke. It’s called Highland Park because it is the highest spot in Old Southwest with beautiful views to the Mill Mountain Star and the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains.
Hundred-year old oak trees provide shade over acres of green space. Highland park offers outdoor basketball courts, tennis courts, a football or soccer field, and skate park. In addition, we have an amazing off-leash dog park that draws our community together around our furry friends. Our frisbee golf course developed in 2014 features 3,180 feet of play on a hilly course.
