I began my search to purchase a historic Victorian home in January 2017. At the time I was living in the New River Valley and did not want to be more than an hour from my job in Blacksburg. Roanoke was on my radar, particularly Old Southwest with its many old homes and short distance to Roanoke’s downtown and all that it has to offer. One day a close friend sent me a text with a photo of a "Coming Soon" real estate sign in front of a beautiful Victorian and jokingly the message "your future house." I quickly worked with my realtor to schedule a showing. The day I walked in the front door, I knew I had come home. In May 2017, I purchased the Victorian on the corner of Washington Avenue and Fourth Street in Old Southwest.
My professional background is in geology, environmental engineering, and environmental protection. I enjoy reading, running, thrifting, antiquing, and historic preservation—as well as pit bull rescue, advocacy, and education for these misunderstood and incredibly gentle dogs.
Since moving to Roanoke, I’ve served OSW Inc. as a participant on the Parlor Tour, a volunteer in organizing Parlor Tour, and volunteering for various clean-up events in the neighborhood. I’m interested in community outreach activities and resources that promote historic preservation, environmental protection, and keep our neighborhood clean and beautiful.
