Veteran's Grant

Provided by The Home Depot and Old Southwest, Inc.
Roanoke, VA  June 5, 2014

Old Southwest, Inc. and The Home Depot are teaming up to thank neighborhood veterans for their service by providing home improvement projects.

We anticipate awards of approximately $300 to $1000 per project. Requests will utilize Home Depot products, professional Home Depot services/installation, and/or neighborhood volunteers. Suggested projects include painting, landscaping, simple carpentry, or installation of new appliances or air conditioners. The home owner is responsible for obtaining any required permits or approval.

Eligibility requirements that must be met include non-rental homes within Old Southwest, Roanoke, VA where at least one military veteran currently resides. Projects will be chosen based on the number of applicants, available financial resources, applicant need, the ability of Old Southwest, Inc. volunteers to complete the project, and the scope of the project to improve a veteran's quality of life.

To apply please send a description of your project, including anticipated expenses, Home Depot products and services to be used, name & contact information, address of the project, property owner name and contact (if different), branch of service and service dates of veteran(s) residing at the project address and a description of need (financial, health, age, disability or other) to:
